Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog!
DISCLAIMER: This blog is not designed to talk about movies aimed at men. It's called Guy Movies as my parents decided to give me a name that seems specific to just one gender.
My name is Guy Owen and I'm from Lincoln, UK and I've been fascinated by films since my Dad took me to the local cinema to see Toy Story 2 back in 2000.
I graduated from the University of Sunderland with a journalism degree in 2017, and worked for as a journalist at a local publication, travelled a bit of the world and now I currently perform the communications and marketing duties for an education company in Lincoln.
I had the pleasure of working at a cinema for 18 months during my time at university, where I made the most of my unlimited free tickets and my parents also noticed that I was making the most on the 50% discount on drinks and snacks, too!
I've always wanted to set up a blog that discussed and reviewed films (or movies, depending on where in the world you're from), and after being told to self-isolate from COVID-2019 for two weeks, I thought this would be a perfect time to start this up as all of my pre-planned social occasions have all been cancelled.
This blog is aimed at people who sit down at night and put a film on, who occasionally go with their friends, families, partners or alone to the cinema to see the latest movie or just someone who is looking for something new to watch.
Some of the films I talk about you may have seen before, never heard of or just didn't fancy watching, which is completely fine! But I'm here to give variety to people and to try and bring some positivity in the world.
